Melissa Farkouh: mother, speech therapist and trainer
Hello, I'm Melissa (no accent). I founded a speech therapy clinic in the Montreal area (Quebec, Canada) in 2012. For several years, I have worked with children and parents in healthcare facilities, daycare centers, and through telepractice.
I specialized in:
- bilingualism or multilingualism in children
- dynamic evaluation
- parental partnership
Just a little background…
I am trilingual: English, French and Egyptian Arabic.
My husband speaks English, French and Italian.
I am the mother of 2 wonderful bilingual children… who are asking us more and more questions about the languages we have not yet taught them.
I support speech therapists and language interventionists
Today, I support speech therapists and language development specialists in optimizing their intervention with children and their families. I have trained professionals from Canada, as well as Switzerland, France, Lebanon, and Algeria.
I place great importance on the expertise of parents and encourage interventions tailored to the functional needs of each child living with communication difficulties.
My approach emphasizes the importance of the surrounding environment... or even a village!... In the child's development.
