A little about me…

Melissa farkouh, Mother, Speech-Language Pathologist, and Trainer

Hi, I’m Melissa. I founded a my private practuce in the Montreal area (Quebec, Canada) in 2012.

For many years, I supported children and parents in healthcare facilities, daycares, and via telepractice.

Today, I support speech therapists and other professionals such as early childhood educators and speech-language therapy assistants in optimizing their interventions with children and their families.

I place great importance on the expertise of parents and encourage interventions tailored to the functional needs of each child.

This is why I’ve develop an interest in the areas of bilingualism or multilingualism, dynamic assessment, and parental partnership.

My approach emphasizes the importance of the surrounding community—and that in fact, it takes a village!—in regards to a child’s development.

What if I can’t attend live?

Is this course only for Canadian SLPs?

Not at all. SLPs from around the world are welcome — the principles apply globally, as we know there is NO ONE SIZE FITS ALL. Working with multilingual and multicultural children means diversity, uniqueness, and adaptation to every child and every family.

Does this course include intervention strategies?

This training is focused exclusively on assessment. If you’re looking for support with intervention, check out the full version of Melissa’s French-language training. Otherwise more trainings will become available in English, including a training on intervention with multilingual and multicultural children.

Is the content only for school-aged children?
No I will be focusin on both preschool and school-aged children.
